how to "spa" at blush
we ask guests to join us in creating an atmosphere of tranquility and consideration. to this end, please familiarize yourself with the spa etiquette observed at blush:
make time for indulgence - as treatments begin precisely at the appointed time, you’re encouraged to arrive from 15-30 minutes in advance. soing so will allow for leisurely check-in, cup of herbal tea and decompression. read a magazine, choose an angel card or just close your eyes. late arrivals may result in a shortened service time with a charge for the full service and may not allow you to benefit from the full blush experience.
ring not - constant communication and true relaxation are thoroughly incompatible. cellular phones and pagers are therefore not permitted and we ask that you power off throughout each visit. we understand the need for parents and executives to sometimes stay in touch, so if you feel the need to stay connected, please keep your phone on vibrate and hold conversations outside the spa. services will not be continued until all conversations are complete.
on sound and space - in order to ensure that each guest enjoys a relaxing and blissful experience, we request that clients be mindful of other guests’ space by keeping conversation quiet and minimal. during our busy day, it is the rare opportunity to relax, read, meditate, or simply zone out. please help us preserve our little spot of haven where you and others can enjoy some much-deserved down-time.
advise us of your medical status - it’s essential that you inform our reservation consultant in advance of any conditions that may limit the ability to receive a specific treatment. these include high blood pressure, injuries, pregnancy, allergies, past surgeries, and recently taken medications, especially photosensitizing ones like retin-a and accutane.
open dialogue with your therapist- as intuitive and talented as our therapists may be, they’re at their best when guests express themselves. what feels right to some may not to others, so make your preferences known. please communicate regarding massage pressure, if you experience discomfort, are too cold or warm during a treatment, or if you want to focus on a different area. even if you are simply curious about something, please speak up.
cancellation fees - please cancel appointments 24 hours in advance and 72 hours in advance for spa packages or parties to avoid a 50% charge on all services booked. (this cancellation policy doesn’t apply to brow or face waxing).
gratuities - not included in the treatment fee, the suggested standard gratuity is 15%-20% of the fee for each spa service received. gratuities are payable in cash, check or by credit card, though cash is preferred. small envelopes are available at the reception desk.
spa dress - many services are performed ideally with the guest in a state of undress, however, if you’re more comfortable in clothing we suggest shorts for men and bikini bathing suits for women. robes, towels, and slippers are provided if you choose to get comfy.
beverages and snacks - are available. we always have herbal tea, coffee, volcanic water, fruit and nuts but we’re happy to order you something from one of our fabulous local restaurants if you’re feeling a bit hungry. please ask your spa host for a suggestion from our extensive selection.
enjoy - all of us at blush aim to serve you and make your experience as relaxing and rejuvenating as possible. if you need anything from us, please do not hesitate to ask. most important, we hope that you enjoy your time in our spa.
